The objective of innovation is to provide an extensive analysis of wheelchair designing, keeping in view various aspects such as lightweight and foldable wheelchairs, electrically-powered wheelchairs, all-terrain wheelchairs, smart wheelchairs, and ergonomic and customizable designs. The aim is to study and find the benefits and implications of these designs for wheelchair users, while keeping in mind a steadfast commitment to academic integrity and originality. Different jigs and fixtures were designed and fabricated to connect the linear actuator to the frame of the wheelchair. Also a battery setup was installed to run the linear actuator as its specification and was incorporated in the wheelchair. It can operate on both AC & DC supply which makes it more mobile. A remote control mechanism is also provided to the patient at its armrest so that he can operate the wheelchair on his own without any external assistance which makes the wheelchair more user-friendly. Now, after incorporating a linear actuator-based mechanism in the wheelchair instead of the previously used gas spring, jerks problem were eliminated and smooth transition of the wheelchair was obtained & the patient can now easily operate the wheelchair by using the automatic remote control, thus the wheelchair was successfully automated.
