Protein staining is one of the most widely and routinely done techniques in life science research. This technique usually employs Coomassie based dyes whose synthesis and application utilize harmful and pungent chemicals. In order to overcome the harmful effects of the chemicals used in these methods we have come up with an alternative protein staining method using the extract from walnut husk. As opposed to the traditional protein staining and visualization methods, the walnut husk extract dye method is an ef icient, rapid, non-toxic, non- pungent, environmentally-friendly and sustainable alternative for staining and visualization of proteins.
