The aim of this work is to reduce the volume (size) of the plastic and tin can waste so that more quantity can be transported using the same resources as before resulting in lowering of the transportation costs. The work embodies the design concept, operations & fabrication part. The proposed machine reduces the volume of tin cans and plastic bottles of different sizes continuously, consisting of a deflector at the bottom which directs the crushed cans and bottles into the bin. The tin cans and bottles are crushed by squeezing them between rocker arm plate and two fixed plates. Rocker arm plate moves back and forth making crushing of plastic bottles & tins possible, the back & forth motion is provided by means of a mechanism driven by the motor. The cans or bottles are continuously fed by means of hopper placed at the top. The crushed cans or bottles are directed into a bin by means of a deflector placed at the bottom.
